Zaimović Mehmed

Mehmed Zaimović (Tuzla, August 26, 1938 - Sarajevo, September 30, 2011) is a painter from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo in 1961.He was also a member of ANU BiH. He was engaged in painting, drawing, graphics and book design. His first exhibition in Sarajevo was about ornaments, to see the sense of arabesque and the symbolism of the Orient. In his work, Zaimović summarized the experiences of several basic tendencies of contemporary painting, creating a peculiar world of forms, modern and, at the same time, firmly rooted, firmly connected to Bosnia and its spiritual spaces.
