Mijić Karlo

Mijić, Karlo, Croatian painter (Bileća, Bosnia and Herzegovina, February 7, 1887 – Zagreb, February 5, 1964). Studied in Vienna, Prague (with V. Bukovac) and Munich. He lived in Sarajevo until 1938, when he moved to Zagreb. At first, the influences of Munich academicism, plein air, Jugendstil and symbolism and Viennese secession, and even expressionism in early socially engaged drawings are visible in his works.
