Berber Mersad

(Bosanski Petrovac,1940. - Zagreb,2012. ) Bosnian painter. Mersad Berber was one of the greatest painters of his era neoclassicist. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1963, in the class of Maksim Sedej. Postgraduate study's end, the graphics on the same Academy at Rike Debeljak. From 1978 to 1982 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. During the 1990s, during the war in Bosnia, he moved to Zagreb. By the end of his life living and working in Zagreb and Dubrovnik. He was engaged in painting, graphics, tapestry, illustrations and designed the sets and costumes, and in 1985 he completed his cartoon Tempo Secondo. He has held almost a hundred exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Europe, USA and Asia, and has won more than 50 awards for his work. He was a member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 2007
