Jurkić Gabrijel

(Livno, 1886.- Livno, 1974.) He was the first educated painter from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who painted under the influence of secession and pointillism. 1907/1908 became a student of the Temporary School of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb, 1908/1909. he enrolled at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, where he was immediately transferred to the fourth year of the general painting department in the class of Alois Deluge, 1909/1911. attends a special course by Kazimir Pochwalski and studies the segment "Study of the Art of Bosnian History". After his Viennese studies, he returned to Sarajevo, preparing his first solo exhibition (1911), in Sarajevo and Zagreb. He painted landscapes and portraits.
